What do you use to view spherical image?

Postby Lugard77 » 06 Oct 2014, 05:32

Hi guys!
I'm wondering what do you use to view spherical image.

I use THREE.js with WebGLRenderer.
But it is difficult to update javascript library and to view spherical images on iOS8. :?

How about you??

I am looking for a rendering tool as well.

When I capture a photo using the iOS SDK, it looks like it makes non-stitched image. Is this your experience as well, and if so, how are you handling this?

you mean, is it Equirectangular ?

If so, I use sphere mapping with webGL (three.js - Texture) on web browser.
I am not familiar with iOS programming, but how about OpenGL?

Most WebGL code can be ported to iOS using GLSL libraries (or Metal). Check out GPUImage lib or Metal (iOS 8 only).

If you want to embed the image onto your own web pages without flash, you can use this github project: https://github.com/flimshaw/Valiant360

There's also http://photosphereviewer.net/ if you just want to show something without much hassle.
