Source codes for viewing Theta images?

Postby bigboss97 » 02 Jul 2015, 02:25

I want to write a plugin for a program. It would be nice if I can find the source codes for viewing images. I don't want to go through all the mathematical pain

I came here for exactly the same reason. The SphericalViewer.exe must be either GPLv2 or GPLv3 as it contains GPLv2+ software, however I haven't yet found the source code.

They have to open the code, at least for the distortion algorithm. So more people can port the viewer on different platforms. I hope it's just like the problem with video codec in the old days :-) One day I can send the JPG file to my friend and the standard viewer on his machine can launch it with 360 view.

It's standard equirectangular format. There are various viewers for it. Source code also shouldn't be hard to find.

I've seen those, which is why I'm personally more interested in the video warping code

I'm thinking of using this:

I might be able to defish from the center of a lens. But I have no ideas what to do when the view port is between the lenses.

Has anyone written a program that can view the THETA images? I would like to get an example of something working. If this does not exist, is there an third-party viewer that can be controlled through an API? Ideally, the API uses some type of GET/POST HTTP command.
