Making a personal website with Theta 360 images

Postby jorgeenciso754 » 31 Jan 2015, 04:07

HI,
How can I make my own website, in which I can upload 360 snapshots (not live) taken with the theta 360, and that anyone that sees them from any computer, can move the image (as in the theta360.com)?

Thanks
Jorge

You can embed a picture on theta360.com to your website.
The code for embed can be found in the bottom of the image viewer page.

hello!

im looking to embed the pano in my website too, the embed code provided is ok, but is missong some buttons from the one we get at theta360.com.

It would be nice for the theta people to allow at least a fullscreen button on the manual embed ones. Anyone know who to talk to^ 8-)

also if anyone has discovered some parameters for the embed code it would be nice to share! thanks!

I'm just reopening this discussion as I have a problem.

Ever since registering to the Theta S website I have lost the ability to uplaod my images to the gallery and obtain the embedded code to add the photo to my personal website. It will only allow me to share using either facebook or Twitter but not add it to my gallery.

I'm going a bit crazy here. I'm experimenting at the moment so there is no way I want to always share on twitter or FB.

Am sure there is something I'm missing but don't know what

Any help would be appreciated

embedding the images into website
in this link I show about 5 images embedded into a google site

the 360 is hosted at dermandar and Theta - 2 styles
http://www.thaibis.com/bangkok/shopping/terminal21/360-photos
I also embed a 360 video which I edited in and then injected with metatag so it will work in youtube.. the video is several clips merged
to see more styles go to the search box top right corner and type 360

Flickr supports 360 photosphere and you can embed the image into any website.

If your using Wordpress you can try Cardboard https://wordpress.org/plugins/cardboard/ Its a great plugin for 360. I use it all the time more then Flickr.

Finally Facebook allows 360 images and video, so if you have a page or group you can post individual post on them. Nothing yet for posting to a website.

Google photos allows 360 photos too, but nothing simple for posting on a webpage.

Check out my Demos of Flickr and Cardboard here http://oasisdigitalhd.com/360-images/

When you say, you can't use the THETA app, are you referring to the desktop app that you downloaded here?
https://theta360.com/en/support/download/

You can then upload it to theta360.com and use the green embed button to embed this in your website.

The mobile app on your phone can also upload it to theta360.com

I'm using the Cardboard plugin. After trying WP Photo Sphere and WP-VR-view, I like Cardboard the best. Thanks for the recommendation.
Prior to that, I made screenshots of my photospheres on Google maps and used the screenshots in my WP site with links to my images on Google.

hi guys, we have developed a solution to allow you to host your 360 degree pics on your own website.

Please see www.host360photos.com - our slogan "host 360 degree pictures in just one click". It is currently free.

We would also like to have your feedback and any tips that you can give us. Please send it to eduard@kwikweb.co.za

Open Source JavaScript 360 Image Viewers
  • Photo Sphere Viewer by Jeremy Heleine
    * good and popular viewer. Uses Three.js
  • ThetaViewer by Atsushi Kokubo
    * Viewer works great. Documentation is in Japanese.
  • theta-viewer.js by Sho Hashimoto
    * Animate multiple-Photos taken by RICOH THETA.
  • Google VR for Web by Google
    * Solid 360 image and video viewer that can be embedded in web site or mobile phone
  • Pannellum by Matthew Petroff
    * lightweight, free, and open source panorama viewer for the web

Thanks for this great list! I only knew about two of those.

I am looking for software to create a virtual tour -- http://www.marzipano.net/ is great and simple, but does not allow editing a project (requiring complex projects to be made manually via source code).

Any tips?

Here's a comprehensive list of apps that work with RICOH THETA on the Unofficial Guide site, including quite a few virtual tour apps. Probably you're interested in Kuula, Hugin, Pano2VR, or others. http://lists.theta360.guide/t/list-of-theta-apps/48?u=jcasman
Also, you can take a glance at the Showcase page: http://theta360.guide/showcase/

Very simple question; very difficult to find an answer:
Can you change the embed codes / parameters when embedding a theta360 image to your site?
For example, removing the control icons, or the projection, or the spin? Any help would be greatly appreicated, and I'd love to be able to simply use the theta embed, and not have to use google VR view or a third party application.

I don't think that theta360.com offers that level of control.

If you have a business application and want to keep the technology in the RICOH ecosystem, I suggest looking into theta360.biz, the RICOH site for business use.

Hello,
I recently posted a similar thread elsewhere that has not had a response.
I'd also like to use the viewer that underpins the Theta gallery - However -it does not appear to be responsive and ALL viewers now need to be responsive, so it is a killer for that viewer.
Anyone know of a version or viewport parameter to make that embed viewer responsive?

Hi,

If you would like to embed a 360 panorama on a website or in a blog post, check out https://kuula.co. It's easy and it works great!

Live examples of 360 embeds on a website:
- https://www.wireframeimmersive.com/360-virtual-tour/

You can read more about embedding 360 photo on a website using Kuula here:
https://blog.kuula.co/embed-editor-on-kuula/.

If you need to add your own logo to the embed, you will need to get a PRO subscription. Read about Embed Editor PRO here: https://kuula.co/help/embed-pro-features.

Also, we've just launched Virtual Tours that will allow you to embed a gallery of 360 photos. Lear more: https://blog.kuula.co/create-virtual-tours/.

Hope you will check it out!
